FEB Undip Receives Benchmarking Visit from Political Science Department of UMY: FIBAA International Accreditation

The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip) welcomed a visit from the Government Science Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IP UMY) for a comparative study related to FIBAA International Accreditation (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation). The meeting is conducted in Sidang Senat Room of FEB Undip on Wednesday 06/09/2023. The FIBAA Task Force Team of Government Science Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, consisting of lecturers and staff, was welcomed by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, head and secretary of the department and head of study program from FEB Undip. This limited meeting was opened by Firmansyah, Ph.D as the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs by presenting the profile of FEB Undip. In his opening remarks, he expressed his welcome and gratitude for the arrival of the FIBAA Task Force team from UMY to learn about FIBAA international accreditation at FEB Undip. In the discussion and sharing related to FIBAA accreditation, the Head of the IP UMY Task Force Team, Dr. Titin Purwaningsih, S.IP., M.Si. conveyed several points that became the main focus of this visit, which are finding out the preparation and implementation in the assessor’s assessment, as well as asking for suggestions regarding matters that need to be considered and prepared in the implementation of FIBAA international accreditation. During the visit, the team from IP UMY also had the opportunity to see the facilities at FEB Undip as a supporting point for accreditation. FIBAA accreditation is a goal for both institutions to improve the quality of education and strengthen their reputation internationally. This comparative study is a positive step in establishing cooperation between FEB Undip and IP UMY in an effort to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. Hopefully, this visit can be the beginning of a broader and sustainable collaboration between the two institutions in facing challenges in the era of globalization.
Inauguration of the 19th Professor of FEB UNDIP: Prof. Dr. Harjum Muharam, S.E., M.E.

The inauguration of the Professor in the Department of Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Harjum Muharam, S.E., M.E., was held on Tuesday (5/09). The event conducted offline at the Prof. Soedarto Building, SH. Universitas Diponegoro, and was broadcast live through the Undip TV Official YouTube channel. With this, Prof. Harjum Muharam officially became one of the 19 active professors at FEB Undip. Before being appointed as a Professor, Prof. Harjum Muharam had completed his undergraduate studies at the FEB UGM Management study program, a Master of Management at FE UI and a Doctoral degree at FEB Undip. In the inaugural event, Prof. Harjum Muharam delivered an inaugural speech entitled “Integrasi Pasar Modal Dunia, Efisiensi Pembiayaan Perusahaan Dan Negara, Serta Kesejahteraan Investor.” He chose the title because the capital market has an important role in economic development and the business cycle in an economy. The Indonesian Capital Market is important for companies, governments, and investors. Although it has been integrated with the global capital market, the level of integration is still weak. At the end of his speech, Prof. Harjum Muharam explained the factors that affect the credibility of the Capital Market in Indonesia. “The credibility of the capital market in Indonesia is influenced by various factors, including the legal and regulatory framework, financial development, property rights protection, market integration, and political stability. Efforts to strengthen these factors are critical to enhance market credibility, attract investment, and drive economic growth. Reforms and continuous improvements to market infrastructure, investor protection, and regulatory enforcement are needed to further enhance the credibility of Indonesia’s capital market”.
Towards an Optimal Islamic-Based Economy: The 13th Sehati National Seminar of KSEI FEB UNDIP

Semarang, August 27, 2023 – The Islamic Economics Study Group (KSEI) of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) again held a national seminar entitled “Sehati Ke-13 FEB UNDIP Seminar Nasional: Optimalkan Ekonomi dan Bisnis Berbasis Syariah”. The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. H. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, through the zoom meeting platform, gave a speech regarding the importance of strengthening the islamic economy in encouraging the tourism sector and the creative economy. He stated that Indonesia pays serious attention to the development of digital technology, especially those that have a direct contribution to the empowerment of MSMEs. Gen Z and Millennials must have knowledge about digital literacy and digital economy which in the future can also be utilized in the field of business and Islamic economics, so that the Islamic economy becomes an equitable and sustainable economy. The event, which took place at the KWU Hall of FEB Undip, presented a number of resource persons who are experts in the field of islamic-based economics and business, to discuss the potential and challenges in optimizing the economic sector based on Islamic principles. Dr. Adiwarman Azwar Karim, who also serves as Independent Commissioner of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), outlined the importance of implementing islamic economy in facing current global dynamics. He emphasized that islamic-based economics is not just a trend, but a necessity to realize justice and sustainability in the economic system. The event was also attended by Dr. Sutan Emir Hidayat, an expert in the field of Islamic Ecosystem Infrastructure at Komite Nasional Ekonomi dan Keuangan Syariah (KNEKS). He shared his views on the importance of strengthening Islamic ecosystem infrastructure as the main foundation in driving sustainable and inclusive economic growth. The seminar also featured Dr. Gamal Albinsaid, an innovator in the health sector who has successfully created the Waste Insurance Clinic. Irsyad Al Ghifari, as the Presidium Nasional Forum Silaturahmi Studi Ekonomi Islam (FoSSEI) for the 2018/2019 period, was also the guest speaker in this seminar. In the discussion session, they shared their experiences about the role of the younger generation in combining islamic values with innovation, so as to create a positive impact on society. Before the event closing, there was a question and answer (QnA) session where participants could ask questions to the speakers. This provided an opportunity to explore the topic of Islamic economics and its implications in various sectors. The spirit of collaboration and integration of islamic values with modern innovation is expected to continue to color the steps towards better economic and business development in the future.
Digital Security Innovation: The Success of the Kemendikbudristek 2023 Bug Bounty Competition Awards at FEB UUNDIP

Semarang (23/8) – Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudristek) Nadiem Makarim highlighted the importance of cybersecurity in technological development at the Bug Bounty Competition Kemendikbudristek 2023 at Hall Kewirausahaan, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Diponegoro (Undip). This event, which is the second edition, was initiated by EDU CSIRT (Education Computer Security Incident Response Team) Pusdatin Kemendikbudristek, as an effort to overcome the increasing number of data leaks. The Vice Dean of FEB UNDIP, Dr. Warsito Kawedar, S.E., M.Si., Akt., expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology for choosing Undip as the venue for the implementation of the 2023 Kemendikbudristek Bug Bounty Award. By holding this event with a seminar, hopefully, it can inspire invitees who attend online from students and educators in Semarang City and other regions in Indonesia. This event also supports the regulation of Persesjen Number 11 of 2022 regarding Information Security Management System (SMKI) within the Electronic Based Government System (SPBE) of Kemendikbudristek. Hasan Chabibie, Head of Head of the Center for Data and Information Technology (Kapusdatin) Kemendikbudristek, appreciated the success of this event with a significantly larger number of participants than the previous year. Whereas the number of registered participants in 2022 was recorded at 228 participants, in 2023 the number of registered participants reached 504 participants. This event also featured an information security seminar which was held hybrid via zoom meeting, by presenting speakers from the Minister of Research and Technology in the Working Cabinet (2014-2019) and also as a representative from FEB Undip, Prof. Drs. H. Mohamad Nasir, as well as interesting material from Braincorp CEO, Romi Satria Wibawa, M.Eng., Ph.D. The Bug Bounty Competition will be an annual activity to oversee the implementation of SPBE within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. In this event, 208 reports of vulnerability gap findings from applications owned by Kemendikbudristek work units were recorded, which in this competition can help improve applications and information security. Hopefully, this event will become a collaborative event between Pusdatin Kemendikbudristek, developers, and Bug Hunters to implement SPBE in the Kemendikbudristek environment and become a positive culture in dealing with cyber incidents. At the end of the event, awards were presented to 3 winners in each category, which are Educator, College Student, and Student. On Thursday 09/08/2023 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip) received a visit from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Hasanuddin (FP Unhas) Makassar for a comparative study related to FIBAA International Accreditation (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation). The visit and meeting were conducted in Ruang Sidang Senat of FEB Undip. The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, the Head and Secretary of the Department and Head of Study Program from FEB Undip welcomed the Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Hassanudin Task Force Team consisting of lecturers and staff. This limited meeting was opened by Firmansyah, Ph.D as Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs by presenting the profile of FEB Undip. In his remarks, he expressed his welcome and gratitude for the visit of the Task Force team from FP Unhas to learn about FIBAA international accreditation at FEB Undip. Moving on to the main part of the event, which involved discussions and exchanging insights about FIBAA accreditation, Muhammad Arsyad, the leader of the FP Unhas Task Force Team, outlined three key objectives for this visit. These objectives included understanding the process and execution of the assessor’s evaluation, as well as seeking advice on important considerations and preparations necessary for FIBAA international accreditation implementation. During the visit, the FP Unhas team also had the chance to directly observe the facilities available at FEB Undip, which contribute to the accreditation process. Both institutions aim for FIBAA accreditation to enhance educational quality and bolster their global reputation. This visit marks a positive stride in establishing collaboration between FEB Undip and Universitas Hasanuddin, aimed at enhancing the standard of education in Indonesia. EBICCS 2023: FEB Undip Summer Course Program Towards Sustainable Development with AI and Big Data

Semarang, 24 July 2023 – Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Diponegoro has successfully conducted the fourth Summer Course Program: Economics and Business International Camp and Courses for Sustainability 2023 (EBICCS 2023) with the theme of “Toward Sustainable Development: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analysis in Business and Accounting.” This Summer Course Program has been participated by 300 participants from various academic and professional backgrounds, including students from 17 countries. Opening Ceremony EBICCS 2023 that has been conducted online from July 24 to August 11, 2023, offers a wide variety of interesting courses with speakers from various renowned universities abroad, such as Curtin University Australia, University of Portsmouth UK, Saxion University Netherlands, etc. The goal of the program is to spread awareness and knowledge about sustainable development and inspire participants to contribute to creating a more sustainable world. In the opening session, the participants were welcomed by the Dean of FEB Undip, Prof. Suharnomo, stating that “Innovation as a key driver of world progress, now coupled with the arrival of AI and Big Data, brings unprecedented opportunities. These amazing technologies have the potential to revolutionize various sectors of life. Let us together listen attentively to the views of the distinguished speakers who will be present, as through this program we can fully optimize the true potential of AI and Big Data for sustainable development.” First Day of EBICCS 2023 The first day of the summer course was presented by Dr. Lanita Winata from Griffith University Australia, who discussed Sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). In her presentation, she emphasized the importance of sustainability programs in life and their impact on the environment, society, and governance. “It is important to always remember the three principles of reuse, recycle and reduce. By implementing these three practices, we can reduce the demand for new products, turn waste into valuable resources through reuse, and reduce the wise use of resources through reduce. Through the application of these principles, we can create a sustainable cycle that is friendly to the environment.” This program confirms the commitment of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro to be a pioneer in spreading awareness about sustainable development and inspiring participants to play an active role in creating positive change. FEB Undip’s Collaboration: Discussing About Student Internship Program in Europe with Two Distinguished Institutions!

Semarang, 24, July 2023 – Located in Sidang Senat Room of the Dekanat building of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), a socialization and discussion meeting regarding the “Working Holiday Internship Program in Europe” was held in collaboration with PT MNC Guna Usaha Indonesia and Binawan University. The purpose of this meeting is to explore the potential of establishing mutually beneficial cooperation in developing the quality of education, especially in the MBKM Internship program. The meeting was attended by a team from FEB Undip, including lecturers and education staff, led by Prof. Suharnomo as the Dean of FEB Undip. He welcomed the socialization and discussion activities that discussed this cooperation opportunity. “FEB Undip is always open to collaborating with any institution both local and abroad,” he said. During the meeting, there were Darmansyah Setia Ardhi from PT MNC Guna Usaha Indonesia and Dr. Maryuni, as a representative from Binawan University. The presence of the two representatives of the institution indicates their seriousness and interest in developing the “Working Holiday in Europe” internship program with the MBKM approach. “The Working Holiday internship program in Europe aims to provide opportunities for Indonesian students to study and work as interns in Europe, especially in Germany during the winter holidays, around October to January,” said Dr. Maryuni. This socialization meeting is an important first step in formulating and implementing an overseas internship program that combines the Merdeka Belajar curriculum. There is great hope that this kind of overseas internship program can be leveled up. Where in addition to working, they also have the opportunity to learn and develop skills for students and support the improvement of the quality of education in Indonesia.
Promote Unity and Loyalty to the Alma Mater : The first 40th Reunion of FEB Undip Batch 1983

Semarang, July 22, 2023. After waiting for 40 years, the inaugural reunion of the 1983 batch of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) was successfully held. However, this time the reunion was not only a nostalgic event, but also a momentum to make a positive contribution to the beloved alma mater. This reunion cunducted at the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Diponegoro campus. The reunion began with morning exercises at the FEB Undip pond, as a trigger for the healthy spirit of the alumni. However, this reunion was not just about nostalgia. The 1983 alumni also wanted to contribute to their beloved alma mater that had shaped their careers. As a form of appreciation and gratitude to the alma mater, they held an alma mater service event where some of the activities included: Learning Facilities Assistance: Alumni Batch of 1983 collaborated with Asuransi Astra to provide facilities assistance to selected outstanding FEB Undip students. This assistance is expected to ease the financial burden on students and encourage their enthusiasm in pursuing higher education. Assistance to Campus: As a form of support in supporting the green campus program, the alumni batch 1983 provided 46 trees of various kinds and 15 park benches for FEB Undip. Appreciation to Staff: Staff who excel and are highly dedicated to the advancement of the campus also be the attention of alumni. They were given awards for their achievements and important roles. Making the moment meaningful, the 1983 alumni did not miss the visitation activity. They also made a pilgrimage to Undip cemetery to remember and pray for the lecturers and campus staff who have contributed in shaping their careers. The Gala Dinner which conducted at the KWU Building was the culmination of a series of reunion events as a place to meet and greet. Hopefully, the 1983 Alumni Reunion of the Faculty of Economics and Business Undip will become a momentum of inspiration for other batches to maintain alumni ties and can make a positive contribution to their beloved alma mater.
FEB Undip is releasing 83 students for overseas exposure activities.

On Friday (14/7/2023), the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) held a Pre-Departure event in the Sidang Utama room of the Dekanat Building. During this event, the FEB Undip released 83 students from the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) and Regular Program. The 83 students are set to engage in International Exposure through esteemed programs including Double Degree, Credit Transfer System (CTS), Short Course/Summer School, and IISMA (Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards). Double Degree program will provide opportunities for 34 students to obtain two degrees at once from partner universities abroad. Credit Transfer System (CTS) allows them to take several courses at partner universities to be recognized as part of their study curriculum at FEB Undip. The 83 students are from various study programs: 49 Management students, 32 Accounting students, and 2 Economics students. They will be spread to various top world campuses such as, National United University (Taiwan), Monash University (Australia), Universiti Malaya (Malaysia), Saxion University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands), University of Birmingham (United Kingdom), Montpellier Business School (France), etc. The pre-departure event for students which was held in online (zoom meeting) and offline platform was started by the dean of FEB Undip, Prof. Suharnomo, who gave remarks and encouragement to students who would take international academic trips. He said “We are very proud of the achievements of our students who have been selected to take part in International Exposure activities to renowned universities in various parts of the world. One thing that I emphasize here is that all of you must support each other and adapt well to the new environment and build your networking when you are abroad.” Additionally, the pre-departure event featured Benz Arya, an alumnus of the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) program, who successfully completed his double degree studies at both Undip and Saxion University, Enschede, the Netherlands. Afina Hasya, S.T, M.M., as the coordinator of the International Office of FEB Undip, explained important things for students in preparing important documents needed for administration purposes before departure. This departure of the 83 FEB Undip students aligns with the university’s commitment to sustainable development goals (SDGs) and its mission as a World Class University (WCU). The institution aims to excel in education and international collaboration.
Attaché of Education and Culture of the Indonesian Embassy in Port Moresby Visited FEB Undip to establish Cooperation

Semarang, July 11, 2023 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip) proudly welcomed a visit from the Attaché of Education and Culture of the Indonesian Embassy in Port Moresby, with the intention of exploring the potential for cooperation. The meeting that was attended by the Dean and staff of FEB Undip and also Dr. Chaerun Anwar as a representative of the Attaché of Education and Culture of the Indonesian Embassy in Port Moresby, conducted on the 1st floor of the Dekanat building, Sidang Senat Room of FEB Undip. The Dean of FEB Undip, Prof. Suharnomo, welcomed this visit enthusiastically to discuss opportunities for cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy in Port Moresby. He also stated that FEB Undip is always open to collaborating with domestic and foreign institutions. During the meeting, Dr. Chaerun Anwar expressed his intention to establish cooperation with FEB Undip. Some areas that are considered potential for cooperation are student exchange programs, joint research, and curriculum development. This visit is expected to be a good start in strengthening the relationship between FEB Undip and the Indonesian Embassy in Port Moresby, with the aim of fostering productive and sustainable collaboration in the fields of education and research.
