FEB Undip Strengthens Global Academic Collaboration through WCU Program with Groningen University

As part of its commitment to advancing international academic engagement, the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip), through the World Class University (WCU) Program, has initiated a strategic collaboration with Groningen University, The Netherlands. Representing FEB Undip in this initiative was Prof. Drs. Waridin, M.S., Ph.D., a senior lecturer from the Department of Economics. During his visit, Prof. Waridin held a series of academic discussions with Prof. Klaus of Groningen University, focusing on establishing a long-term partnership between the two institutions. The visit culminated in the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI), marking a mutual commitment to prepare a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the near future. The proposed areas of collaboration include: Exchange of academic staff and students Joint research initiatives Coordination of educational projects Organization of student development programs such as academic conferences, lectures, short training courses, seminars, and symposia This initiative reflects FEB Undip’s proactive role in building a globally connected academic environment that enhances research, education, and student development through meaningful international cooperation.

FEB Undip and Tembalang Elementary School Unite for Sustainability: Achieving SDGs Through Fish Seed Release

Semarang, January 19, 2024 – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Diponegoro University (Undip) strengthens its commitment to environmental sustainability and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through collaboration with SD Negeri Tembalang. During this visit, the students of SD Negeri Tembalang participated in the activity of releasing fish in the campus pond and lake, creating a positive impact on the campus UI GreenMetric point. Through this event, we are not only providing quality education but also spreading environmental awareness to the community at the elementary level. The students also received socialization about the importance of preserving the environment. Especially the lake at FEB Undip becomes an example for the community as a water conservator and ecosystem in the campus environment. Teachers and staff from both schools play an important role as agents of change, guiding the students to have a better understanding of the sustainability movement. This event shows us Undip’s commitment as an institution that contributes to the green environment by implementing the UI GreenMetric points. FEB Undip continues its commitment to being more than just a higher education center but also an institution that plays a role in shaping the next generation that is environmentally conscious and responsible. Consequently, FEB Undip will remain actively involved as a key contributor to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and enhancing its GreenMetric ranking, striving to create a more sustainable “green campus”.

Posbindu PTM FEB UNDIP: Maintain Health with a Healthy Lifestyle!

Semarang, October 10, 2023 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip) recently held Posbindu PTM (Posko Pembinaan Terpadu Penyakit Tidak Menular) means an integrated guidance post for the early detection and prevention of Non–communicable diseases (NCDs). This event was first organized nationally by The Indonesian Ministry of Health, further Posbindu PTM can be implemented in multi-sectors, including government, community, schools, universities, work-places, and industry. This activity was held on Friday, October 6, at the lobby of the FEB Undip Entrepreneurship Building. The standard programs carried out by this event were; checking blood pressure, blood sugar, uric acid, height, weight, and abdominal circumference. This activity also involved the active role of students from the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Undip, and collaborated with UPT K3L Undip. Where they provide additional information about the importance of maintaining health and implementing a healthy lifestyle (health counseling). This Posbindu PTM event, indicates a strong commitment of FEB Undip of collaboration in creating a healthy campus environment and supporting efforts to prevent NCDs. Hopefully similar event can continue to be carried out to support the health and welfare of the academic community in the future.  

Towards Extreme Poverty Eradication in 2024: Collaboration between Undip and Ministry of Human Development and Culture

Semarang, 26/09/2023. Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) and The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs have agreed to increase cooperation in the field of education, research, and providing benefits to the community. This agreement was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Undip, represented by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., and the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, represented by the Deputy for Coordination of Social Welfare Improvement Prof. Dr. Ir. Nunung Nuryartono, M.Si., which was held at the FEB Undip Hall KWU Building. In the MoU signing ceremony, Sesmenko PMK Andie Megantara, Head of TNP2K Policy Elan Satriawan, and Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs FEB Undip Prof. Firmansyah were also present as witnesses. Representing the Rector of Undip, Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Faisal, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D. officially opened the event. In his remarks, Prof. Faisal said that Undip has so far carried out various activities to deal with poverty. “Undip has so far contributed to poverty alleviation. We empower PAUD teachers who will produce good human resources. Then we had prepared 1400 packs of free nutritious food for students given on Monday to Thursday. As well as providing scholarships to underprivileged fishermen’s children around the coast to study at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK),” explained Prof. Faisal. Furthermore, Prof Faisal hopes that the collaboration between Undip and Kemenko PMK can optimize the efforts of Undip and the Government in handling extreme poverty in Indonesia. “We thank the Kemenko PMK. Undip has contributed to the 2024 extreme poverty reduction program. The existing resources at Undip can be optimized and we can collaborate,” he added. Representing the Minister of Kemenko PMK, Secretary of Kemenko PMK Andie Megantara, S.H., M.M., Ph.D. expressed his appreciation for Undip’s efforts in handling poverty. “Universitas Diponegoro has innovations to reduce extreme poverty, and can become a center in handling extreme poverty,” said Andie. Furthermore, Andie explained that the percentage of extreme poverty has decreased and improved every year. However, to further strengthen the handling of extreme poverty, it is necessary to actively involve the campus academic community. “Efforts to reduce the percentage of poverty have been made, but so far there has been a missed puzzle which is the involvement of the active role of the campus. Campuses have many resources. We continue to collaborate with many campuses to help eliminate extreme poverty,” he said. Furthermore, Andie emphasized that poverty is not just an economic problem. It is multidimensional, involving sociological aspects, cultural aspects, and mindset aspects of society. Therefore, he asked the campus to have a greater contribution, especially with existing academic resources that can help find solutions to poverty management. “If all campuses in Indonesia contribute, poverty alleviation can be very effective. Campuses have many resources. There are programs on each campus that can help address poverty in the area around the campus. Building a mindset of shame for being considered poor, the academic community can also conduct research on poverty issues, and through KKN programs and independent campus programs, “he added. The activity continued with a public lecture which was held in a hybrid both online and offline. Deputy for Coordination of Social Welfare Improvement Nunung Nuryartono; Head of Regional Development Administration Bureau Endi Faiz Effendi; Central and Regional Financial Analyst Young Expert of the Ministry of Finance Yadi Hadian; Head of the Department of Economic and Development Studies, FEB Undip Akhmad Syakir, Ph.D.; Head of the Master of Economics Study Program FEB Undip Wahyu Widodo, Ph.D. were also present as speakers at the public lecture.

FEB Undip Receives Benchmarking Visit from Political Science Department of UMY: FIBAA International Accreditation

The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip) welcomed a visit from the Government Science Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IP UMY) for a comparative study related to FIBAA International Accreditation (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation). The meeting is conducted in Sidang Senat Room of FEB Undip on Wednesday 06/09/2023. The FIBAA Task Force Team of Government Science Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, consisting of lecturers and staff, was welcomed by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, head and secretary of the department and head of study program from FEB Undip. This limited meeting was opened by Firmansyah, Ph.D as the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs by presenting the profile of FEB Undip. In his opening remarks, he expressed his welcome and gratitude for the arrival of the FIBAA Task Force team from UMY to learn about FIBAA international accreditation at FEB Undip. In the discussion and sharing related to FIBAA accreditation, the Head of the IP UMY Task Force Team, Dr. Titin Purwaningsih, S.IP., M.Si. conveyed several points that became the main focus of this visit, which are finding out the preparation and implementation in the assessor’s assessment, as well as asking for suggestions regarding matters that need to be considered and prepared in the implementation of FIBAA international accreditation. During the visit, the team from IP UMY also had the opportunity to see the facilities at FEB Undip as a supporting point for accreditation. FIBAA accreditation is a goal for both institutions to improve the quality of education and strengthen their reputation internationally. This comparative study is a positive step in establishing cooperation between FEB Undip and IP UMY in an effort to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. Hopefully, this visit can be the beginning of a broader and sustainable collaboration between the two institutions in facing challenges in the era of globalization.

FEB Undip Receives Benchmarking from FP Unhas: FIBAA International Accreditation

On Thursday 09/08/2023 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip) received a visit from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Hasanuddin (FP Unhas) Makassar for a comparative study related to FIBAA International Accreditation (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation). The visit and meeting were conducted in Ruang Sidang Senat of FEB Undip. The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, the Head and Secretary of the Department and Head of Study Program from FEB Undip welcomed the Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Hassanudin Task Force Team consisting of lecturers and staff. This limited meeting was opened by Firmansyah, Ph.D as Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs by presenting the profile of FEB Undip. In his remarks, he expressed his welcome and gratitude for the visit of the Task Force team from FP Unhas to learn about FIBAA international accreditation at FEB Undip. Moving on to the main part of the event, which involved discussions and exchanging insights about FIBAA accreditation, Muhammad Arsyad, the leader of the FP Unhas Task Force Team, outlined three key objectives for this visit. These objectives included understanding the process and execution of the assessor’s evaluation, as well as seeking advice on important considerations and preparations necessary for FIBAA international accreditation implementation. During the visit, the FP Unhas team also had the chance to directly observe the facilities available at FEB Undip, which contribute to the accreditation process. Both institutions aim for FIBAA accreditation to enhance educational quality and bolster their global reputation. This visit marks a positive stride in establishing collaboration between FEB Undip and Universitas Hasanuddin, aimed at enhancing the standard of education in Indonesia. Hopefully, this visit marks the inception of a more extensive and sustainable partnership between the two organizations, as they navigate challenges in the age of globalization.

Attaché of Education and Culture of the Indonesian Embassy in Port Moresby Visited FEB Undip to establish Cooperation

Semarang, July 11, 2023 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip) proudly welcomed a visit from the Attaché of Education and Culture of the Indonesian Embassy in Port Moresby, with the intention of exploring the potential for cooperation. The meeting that was attended by the Dean and staff of FEB Undip and also Dr. Chaerun Anwar as a representative of the Attaché of Education and Culture of the Indonesian Embassy in Port Moresby, conducted on the 1st floor of the Dekanat building, Sidang Senat Room of FEB Undip. The Dean of FEB Undip, Prof. Suharnomo, welcomed this visit enthusiastically to discuss opportunities for cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy in Port Moresby. He also stated that FEB Undip is always open to collaborating with domestic and foreign institutions. During the meeting, Dr. Chaerun Anwar expressed his intention to establish cooperation with FEB Undip. Some areas that are considered potential for cooperation are student exchange programs, joint research, and curriculum development. This visit is expected to be a good start in strengthening the relationship between FEB Undip and the Indonesian Embassy in Port Moresby, with the aim of fostering productive and sustainable collaboration in the fields of education and research.

The Signing of the Cooperation Agreement “Pojok Kemenkeu” at FEB Undip.

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Finance of Central Java (Kemenkeu Jateng) in the context of establishing a “Pojok Kemenkeu” room on the FEB Undip campus. The signing of this cooperation was conducted in the Sidang Senat room, Dekanat building of the FEB Undip campus on July 7, 2023. The signing of the cooperation agreement was conducted by the Dean of FEB Undip, Prof. Suharnomo and the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) of the Ministry of Finance of Central Java, Muhdi, Ph.D. The Dean of FEB Undip welcomed this collaboration as a concrete step in improving the quality of education at FEB Undip. Meanwhile, Muhdi, Ph.D. hopes that “The existence of the Ministry of Finance Corner can provide a deeper insight into the latest policies. What is done by the Ministry of Finance can also motivate students to cultivate reading and writing.” The cooperation in the development of the “Pojok Kemenkeu” aims to provide online access to the latest quality literature for the academic world and efforts to improve students’ understanding of issues in the fields of economics and finance. With the signing of this cooperation agreement, FEB Undip and the Ministry of Finance of Central Java showed their commitment in advancing education, especially in the field of economics and as a forum for community, especially in the campus environment in the context of developing the tri dharma of higher education. The “Pojok Kemenkeu” room is expected to be completed in this August and will be located on the ground floor of B building of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro.

The signing of Cooperation Agreement between FEB Undip and RSM Indonesia Drives MBKM Implementation

Semarang, July 6, 2023 – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) has established a partnership agreement regarding the implementation of the Magang Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. This agreement involves collaboration between FEB Undip and RSM Indonesia, a leading public accounting and consulting firm in Indonesia that provides auditing, taxation, and consulting services. This cooperation agreement aligns with the MBKM program, which provides opportunities for students to gain practical experience and direct insights into Audit and Corporate Management through Internship programs, Bumdes Mentoring, Alumni Recruitment, and Training activities organized by RSM Indonesia. The Cooperation Agreement between FEB Undip and RSM Indonesia was signed by the Dean of FEB Undip, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, and witnessed directly by Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, and Endang Pramuwati, Partner for Audit Practice at RSM Indonesia’s Surabaya branch. The cooperation agreement between FEB Undip and RSM is tangible evidence of implementing the Magang Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka program. Hopefully, this collaboration will improve educational quality and students’ careers and encourage the university to continuously involve students in relevant real-world learning experiences while fostering their independence, creativity, and leadership.

UIN Malang’s Visit to FEB Undip for Benchmarking FIBAA International Accreditation

Semarang, June 19, 2023 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip) was visited by Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang for benchmarking on FIBAA International Accreditation (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation). The team from UIN Malang, consisting of lecturers and staff, was warmly welcomed by the Management Department Team of FEB Undip. During the visit, they had the opportunity to see the accreditation process, learning curriculum, international cooperation and academic quality applied at FEB Undip. The FIBAA international accreditation program is a goal for both institutions in improving the quality of education and strengthening their international reputation. Through this comparative study, FEB Undip and UIN Malang hope to inspire each other and improve best practices in curriculum development, management of facilities and infrastructure, and improvement of lecturer competence. Prof. Dr. Harjum Muharam, S.E., M.E. as the Head of Management FEB Undip expressed his excitement over the visit. He hopes that the collaboration between the two institutions can bring positive benefits in an effort to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. “Through this comparative study, we hope to gain a further understanding of international standards in accreditation. We are also ready to share our experience and knowledge with UIN Malang,” said Prof. Harjum Muharam.
