8 Study Programs at FEB UNDIP Internationally Accredited by FIBAA, Most Accredited in Undip

On November 26th, 2021, it was officially announced that 8 study programs at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB UNDIP) were internationally accredited by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA). The eight study programs at FEB UNDIP are: Accounting Undergraduate Study Program (Bachelor of Accounting-BA) Management Undergraduate Study Program (Bachelor of Management-BM) Economics Undergraduate Study Program (Bachelor of Economics-BE) Islamic Economics Undergraduate Study Program (Bachelor of Islamic Economics-BIE) Master of Accounting Study Program (Master of Accounting-MA) Master of Management Study Program (Master of Management-MM) Master of Economics Study Program (Master of Economics) Doctoral Program of Economics Study Program (Doctor of Economics) FIBAA international accreditation will be valid for 5 years until November 25th, 2026. FIBAA international accreditation will further strengthen recognition, especially internationally, of the quality of study programs at FEB UNDIP because previously these study programs had been accredited A by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) and other international accreditation, ABEST21. This is also in line with the vision and mission of Universitas Diponegoro to become a World Class University. In addition, this is a real step from FEB UNDIP to improve the quality of education and competitiveness globally in order to form reliable future leaders of Indonesia. FIBAA is an accreditation institution that carries out quality assurance and quality development for higher education based in Bonn, Germany. FIBAA was founded in 2002 to accredit business schools in the world. FIBAA’s mission is to promote transparency, quality and international values as a whole in the field of higher education. In accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 83/P/2020 concerning International Accreditation Agencies that FIBAA is an International Accreditation Institution recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The FIBAA international accreditation process takes approximately 9 months. The process begins with the formation of a task force team in each study program and also at the faculty level. This Task Force Team has the task of compiling a Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and supporting evidence which consists of several components including quality assurance, curriculum, learning process, quality of supporting infrastructure for lectures, and the student admission process. Furthermore, FIBAA appointed assessors to carry out visitations consisting of representatives of professors in related fields, representatives of practitioners/industry, representation of students, and country expertise from universities in Indonesia. The visitation was conducted online and involved the entire academic community of FEB UNDIP.

Inauguration of Embung and Parking Area Faculty of Economics and Business Undip

The Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University (FEB Undip) carried out the Inauguration of the Embung (Small Lake), FEB Undip Parking Area on December 15, 2021. This event was held around the FEB Undip Embung which was attended by the Chancellor of Diponegoro University, Undip Academic Senate, Deans in the Undip environment. The inscription signing and ribbon cutting activities by the Chancellor accompanied by the Dean of FEB Undip as a sign that the reservoir facilities and parking areas had been inaugurated. Activities are carried out offline with health protocols and online through an online meeting platform.

TUK – LSP TA FEB UNDIP Conducts Training & Certification TA Qualification IV

(19/11/2021) Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Diponegoro (FEB UNDIP) in order to support SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals) to provide quality education for students carrying out Training & Certification Examination for Accounting Technician Qualification IV. This activity is intended for students and lecturers of the undergraduate accounting study program FEB UNDIP which is charged to the RKAT FEB Undip Budget. TUK LSPTA FEB (Competency Test Place for Accounting Technician Professional Certification Institute) Undip has held 2 (two) Batch of Training and Certification Examination for Accounting Technician Qualification IV. In November 2021, the second batch held from the 13th – 21st November 2021 was attended by 43 students of the Accounting Study Program FEB UNDIP. The implementation of training activities is carried out in a hybrid manner, participants attend online and offline by paying attention to health protocols and certification exams are carried out offline. The requirements for students to be able to take part in this training and certification exam are: Accounting Study Program Students and Lecturers For students who have passed the following courses: Introduction to Accounting 1 and 2, Intermediate Financial Accounting 1 and 2, Practicum Introduction to Accounting and Practicum in Financial Accounting Show vaccine certificates when attending training and certification exams. With the holding of training and certification exams, it is hoped that graduates will be able to equip students with skills as accounting technicians so that in the future they will contribute and be able to compete in the world of work.

Visiting Professor Program Prof. Kuo-Feng Huang: Business Innovation and Startups

Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB UNDIP) conducted Visiting Professor Program for students on October 7th, 2021 on the initiation of Department of Management FEB UNDIP in cooperation with National Cheng-Chi University (NCCU), one of the best School of Business in Taiwan that has been accredited by AACSB and EQUIS. The lecture was addressed by Prof. Kuo-Feng Huang, the Executive Director of Master of Business Administration, National Chengchi University, Taiwan for the period of 2019-2021. He is also as the initiator of First NCCU Oversea EMBA Program approved by MOE and First English and Chinese Bi-language EMBA Program in Taiwan. The topic of the event was “Business Innovation and Startups: Dare to Fail: 30 Tips towards Success”. Prof. Kuo-Feng Huang started the lecture by explaining about teaching goals and methods in strategic management which are divided into two ways; one way (Student Presentation and Teacher Lecture) and interactive way (Participant-Centered Discussion and Lecturer-Centered Discussion). Student Participation and participant-Centered Discussion lead to higher percentage of talks by Students, while Teacher Lecture and Lecturer-Centered Discussion lead to higher percentage of talks by Lecturers. Prof. Kuo-Feng Huang continued with the main topic, Startup’s 3S stages strategic focus consisting of Survive, Succeed, and Sustain. Then, he explained about the key for implementing business as business founder. Some attributes are exploring business opportunity, high achievement motivation, possession of professional knowledge, learning-orientation, high risk tasking, and hands-on. While the capabilities are conceptualize capability (including critical reasoning and integration capability), relationship capability between suppliers, clients, and stakeholders, and technical capability (domain knowledge). The event was closed by discussion session between Prof. Kuo-Feng Huang and participants. It was very informative, insightful, and interactive session that the students and all participants were able to have better understanding about how to perform and manage a business. One of participants asked about the difference between risk-taking and careless (gambling). Then, Prof. Kuo-Feng Huang explained that risk-taking is carried out based on rational calculations to reduce risk, while gambling is depending on the luck factor. (IOFEB/R)

Indonesian and Foreign Students Enliven the 2021 FEB Undip Summer Course

On Monday, July 5, 2021, the Faculty of Economics and Business at Diponegoro University has successfully held the Opening Ceremony of the Summer Course 2021 Program online via Zoom. The event was the opening of the Summer Course program which was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Sc. In the opening speech, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Sc. appreciate the enthusiasm of the participants in participating in this Summer Course program, as evidenced by the number of registrants totaling more than 600 registrants consisting of Indonesian students and foreign students. This Summer Course program takes the theme “European and Asian Business Model: Challenges, Barriers, and Opportunities”. This program is carried out for approximately three weeks, starting on July 5, 2021 until July 23, 2021, and each session is held for about 3 hours. The speakers of the Summer Course program consist of Lecturers and Researchers from Undip Partner Universities abroad including from Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Curtin University, Sorbonne University Paris Cite, Tunghai University, Tunku Abdul Rahman University, Nagoya University, Chang Gung University, Universiti Teknologi MARA, University of Malaya, and Universite de La Rochelle. The implementation of lectures in the 2021 Summer Course Program went smoothly. The enthusiasm of the participants in the Question and Answer session was very high, so the discussion was very interactive. The lecture is guided by a moderator who is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University. At the end of the lecture session, an online exam will be held to evaluate the participants’ learning outcomes, as well as being used for the issuance of certificates and transcripts for the 2021 Summer Course participants.
