Socialization of the Accountant Profession and Update on Financial Accounting Standards

On Thursday, the 23rd of February 2023, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB UNDIP), in collaboration with Pusat Pembinaan Profesi Keuangan (PPPK) and Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia (IAI), held a Socialization of the Accountant Profession and Update on Financial Accounting Standards (SAK). This event was conducted hybrid in the Hall Room of Building C FEB UNDIP. It was attended by 170 offline participants and 237 online participants from students, lecturers, and IAI members. This event was moderated by Puji Harto, S.E., M.Si., Akt., Ph.D. (Secretary of the Master of Accounting Study Program at FEB Undip). The speakers are Arie Yuliarti (PPPK Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Elisabeth Imelda (Member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board), and Dr. Dwi Ratmono, SE., M.Si., Akt. (Head of the Accountant Professional Education Study Program at FEB Undip). Dr. Warsito Kawedar, S.E., M.Si., Akt., as the Vice Dean for Resources of FEB UNDIP, delivered an opening speech, and after that, the event was continued with a photo session and souvenir handover. The talk show started with the first material by Arie Yuliarti, discussing the Introduction of PPPK and the Financial Profession. In the materials, she mentions the scope of work of the accounting profession in Indonesia, which is still very much needed and has great opportunities for today’s young generation. The event continued with the second speaker, Elisabeth Imelda, who focused on the latest Financial Accounting Standards (SAK) updates. She provided new information about SAK and explained the 4 (four) pillars of SAK in Indonesia. The last material was delivered by Dr. Dwi Ratmono, SE, M.Si, Akt. as a speaker from FEB UNDIP. The event continued with the participants’ question and answer session, both online and offline. The event ended with a group photo session with the speakers, lecturers, and participants.

Managing Fuel Subsidies in Net Importer Countries

Wednesday, February 22, 2023, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University (FEB Undip), in collaboration with Pipamas Energy, held a seminar titled Pipamas Energy Talk “Managing Fuel Subsidies in Net Importer Countries.” This seminar was held in order to provide information about energy management and answer related facts and myths about energy in Indonesia. The event was hosted by moderator Putri Ayuningtyas and attended by several speakers, namely Tito Rivanto Marsono (Pertamina Sales Area Manager Retail Semarang), Saleh Abdurrahman (Member of the BPH Migas Committee), and Prof. Dr. F.X. Sugiyanto, M.S. (Professor of Economics, FEB UNDIP). “Yesterday’s increase in fuel subsidies was indeed high and became a concern for many people, but if we read the data, it turns out that most rich people are enjoying the subsidies. This makes the theme of the talk show exciting this time, and I hope the knowledge gained will be useful, said Firmansyah, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., as Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs in a welcoming speech before the main talk show event. The talk show program began with a presentation of material by Saleh Abdurrahman, a member of the BPH Migas Committee. “One of the myths in society is that Indonesia is rich in oil. Indonesia’s oil and gas reserves can only last for the next ten years.” He touched on many myths and facts regarding oil and gas and regulations related to fuel subsidies in Indonesia. The second material was delivered by Tito Rivanto Marsono, who focused on discussing the fuel subsidy program at the operational level and the development of one fuel price for all regions in Indonesia. “There are already many regulations governing subsidized fuel, both for certain fuels, special assignment fuel types. By the mandate in BPH Migas regulation No. 6 of 2013, we (Pertamina) are asked to distribute fuel in a precise, volume, and timely manner, as well as system reform in real-time fuel distribution.” The last speaker, Prof. Dr. F.X. Sugiyanto MS, one of the FEB UNDIP Professors of Economics, revealed that “Subsidy reallocation is much more important, where it is not only a matter of accuracy in distributing fuel subsidies. The government should reduce one type of subsidy and increase another type.” The event continued with a question-and-answer session and games by participants who attended online and offline. The event ended with a group photo session with the speakers, lecturers, and the participants.

MSME Expo and Art Parade Enliven the 63rd Anniversary of FEB UNDIP

To enliven its 63rd Anniversary, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Diponegoro held a grand event namely the MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) Expo and Art Parade which were held within the Faculty of Economics and Business Campus. This grand event is a series of many FEB UNDIP Anniversary events starting from the Khotmil Qur’an on February 24th, 2023 to the Expo and Art Parade on March 14th, 2023. This event was opened by the Dean of FEB Undip, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., with the symbol of ribbon cutting and hot air balloons release. The event concept provided by the Faculty of Economics and Business was like a people’s party. The MSME Expo activities were enlivened with art performances and fishing competitions. In addition, food coupons and door prizes were distributed to 1,000 people for free. The MSME Expo was filled with various groups of stands, including: culinary, beauty products, convection, handicrafts, several BUMN product stands, and so on. The MSME Expo is expected to foster students’ interest in being active in innovation and entrepreneurship. Furthermore, in the middle of the event, it was filled with door prizes and grand prizes in the form of 4 bicycles and 1 door refrigerator for all participants who won the lottery. This FEB Anniversary event has the theme “Think Big in Tech, We Do”. It is the spirit of the Faculty to stay up to date with the era developments, especially in the field of technology and information, which is a challenge that must be faced. Therefore, FEB UNDIP is committed to answering this challenge by establishing a new study program, Digital Business, that will be established in the 2023/2024 academic year.     Hopefully, by holding the 63rd FEB UNDIP Anniversary event, the Faculty become more reliable in carrying out the vision and mission to create the next generations who are highly competent and highly competitive in Indonesia and globally.

Collaboration between FEB Undip and Alfamart to Grow Young Entrepreneurs

On the 13th of January 2023, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) held a coordination to collaborate with PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (PT Alfamart) regarding the opening of an alfamart outlet (ALFA X), employee recruitment, and management of Small and Medium Enterprises on campus, especially in the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). The coordination was held in the Dean’s Meeting Room, 2nd floor of Dekanat Building FEB Undip. The coordination of collaboration was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Undip (Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, SE, M.Si), Vice Dean for Resources (Dr. Warsito Kawedar, SE, M.Si, Akt.), Department of Management FEB Undip (Erman Denny Arfinto S.E. M.M. and Shoimatul Fitria S.E. M.M.), Department of Accounting FEB Undip (Dr. Rr. Karlina Aprilia Kusumadewi S.E. M.Sc. Ak.), the representatives of Alfamart Headquarter Office (Alam Sutera, Tangerang), Deanita Stepfanie, the representatives of Alfamart Semarang Office, Eko Mujanto, Alexander D M, and Nanant, and also representative from PT Undip Maju, Shinta Sukma TW. The collaboration was carried out as an initiative to improve the quality of education by creating young entrepreneurs in the retail sector on campus. Furthermore, it is also Alfamart’s sustainability commitment to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target especially number 4 (quality education) and number 17 (partnership to achieve goals). The coordination began with a material presentation by Alfamart and FEB UNDIP and continued by reviewing the location and supporting facilities on campus. This collaboration is expected to be realized soon because there are visions and missions that can be coordinated and synergized, especially for the development of human resources and Small Medium Enterprises on campus. Hopefully, the Alfamart outlet on campus will be able to improve the implementation of the tridharma of higher education, sustainable human resource development, and business development in the implementation of Kampus Merdeka program.

The Signing of Cooperation Agreement for The Investment Gallery of Indonesia Stock Exchange

Semarang, January 3, 2023. The Faculty of Economics and Business at Diponegoro University once again conducted a Cooperation Agreement for Investment Gallery of the Indonesia Stock Exchange between PT Bursa Efek Indonesia and PT Phillip Sekuritas Indonesia. The Indonesia Stock Exchange Investment Gallery is a means to introduce the capital market to the academic world at an early age. The cooperation agenda was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement by Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, SE, M.Si., as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Diponegoro University, Jeffrey Hendrick and Risa Effenita Rustam as Directors of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia, and Daniel Tedja as President Director of PT Phillip Sekuritas Indonesia (PSI). The implementation of this partnership is a form of implementation of the duties of the Faculty of Economics and Business to provide the best quality education. It is hoped that the establishment of the Investment Gallery is expected to be a means of socialization and education in academic world, especially for Diponegoro University Capital Market Study Group, is a student activity unit that considers studying the world of Indonesian capital markets. So it is hoped that the academic community will not only recognize the Capital Market from the theoretical side but can directly practice it.

Faculty of Economics and Business Diponegoro University Receives a Visit from KIAS-Busan University Education Cooperation, South Korea

On Wednesday, July 20th 2022, the Korea Institute for ASEAN Studies, Busan University of Foreign Studies, South Korea (KIAS-BUFS) and the Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University (FEB Undip) signed a memorandum of understanding. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was carried out in the Senat Meeting Room of the FEB Undip Dean Building, attended by the Dean of FEB Undip, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, Deputy Dean of Academic and Student Affairs Firmansyah, Ph.D., Head of Department and Head of Study Programs and lecturers in the FEB Undip environment. KIAS-BUFS representatives who attended this activity were Prof. Kim Dong-Yeob (Director of Korea Institute for ASEAN Studies), Prof. Gu Bokyung (Research Professor, Korea Institute for ASEAN Studies), Dr. Muhammad Zulfikar Rakhmat (Research Professor, Korea Institute for ASEAN Studies), Moon Sun Park (Research Assistant, Korea Institute for ASEAN Studies). FEB UNDIP warmly welcomes this cooperation visit. The memorandum of understanding that will be implemented includes student and lecturer exchanges, information and data exchange, participation in research and education conference programs, and collaboration for research improvement. With this collaboration, it is hoped that both parties can build mutually beneficial relationships to advance science and education.

Faculty of Economics and Business Diponegoro University Collaborates with INDEF to Hold INDEF School of Political Economy: Politics and Regional Development

Today (12/07), the Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University (FEB Undip) in collaboration with INDEF (Institute for Development of Economics and Finance) carried out the INDEF School of Political Economy activities. The INDEF School of Political Economy (ISPE) is a political-economic training program with the aim of providing an understanding of basic economic concepts and methodologies for analyzing an economic phenomenon and understanding political-economic practices that occur in Indonesia. ISPE activities are not only held in Jakarta, but also in several other areas in Indonesia and abroad. INDEF School of Political Economy with the title Politics and Regional Development this time was held in campus circles. Located in the Meeting Room of the Accounting Department FEB Undip, the event was held face-to-face. The event was attended by lecturers, researchers, students and local governments. Present at the activity were the Dean of FEB Undip, the Regional Secretary of Central Java Province as well as lecturers, researchers and students. The event which was held for 3 days from 12-14 July 2022 was opened by Prof. Dr. Suharnomo as the Dean of FEB Undip. “This activity is a very good forum, and can provide knowledge,” he said. Prof. Dr. Suharnomo expressed his gratitude to INDEF, the Regional Secretary of Central Java the speakers who had attended this event. Secretary of Central Java, Sumarno, S.E., M.M. representing the Governor of Central Java expressed his appreciation for this activity, because this is part of the participation of participants to be able to see the current world economic conditions, and there are challenges that must be faced, including the energy crisis due to the war between Russia and Ukraine which has a very extraordinary impact. This activity presents well-known speakers in the field of economics, including: Esther Sri Astuti, Ph.D. (FEB Undip and Research Director INDEF); Faisal H. Basri (INDEF); F.X. Sugiyanto (FEB Undip); Akhmad Syakir Kurnia, Ph.D. (FEB Undip); Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia; and Rusli Abdullah (INDEF). This activity is FEB’s step in supporting Diponegoro University for the implementation of SDGs Point 4 on Quality Education and 17 Partnerships to Achieve Goals.

FEB Undip welcomes a visit from Hochschule Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU), Germany and Haaga Helia & Jamk University, Finland

On May 30 – 31, 2022, Hochschule Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences Germany and Haaga Helia in collaboration with Jamk University Finland visited the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Diponegoro with the aim of establishing a more focused collaboration on student exchange program. The delegates from Hochschule Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences Germany were Mrs. Cornelia and Mrs. Verena Seitz, while Prof. Pasi Halmari and Mr. Jari Poikonen were representatives from Haaga Helia and Jamk University, Finland. The arrival of the guests was warmly welcomed by the Faculty of Economics and Business Management including Dean, Head of Department, Head and Secretary of Study Program, and International Office. At the first day of visit, Mrs. Verena Seitz from International Office, Hochschule Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences Germany explained that their focus of student exchange program is that the students can choose a course of study from a variety of options. In the student exchange program, students will study in Germany for a minimum of 6 months, with the first 3 weeks filled with new student orientation activities. Hochschule Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences also prepares German language courses for beginner. While at the second day of visit, Haaga Helia University and the Faculty of Economics and Business focus on the continuation of the cooperation that has been discussed previously, which is cooperation in the field of student exchange, either Single Degree or Double Degree. Haaga Helia confirmed that they are ready to cooperate in various other possible schemes to be implemented by the both parties. Both the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Diponegoro with Hochschule Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences Germany and Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Diponegoro with Haaga Helia and Jamk University, are eager that the cooperative relationship between them can run smoothly, especially in the field of student exchange. The next step, both parties will immediately send the curriculum and syllabus to develop a curriculum mapping as the first step of cooperation.

BRI Holds Another Village Empowerment Program Through the 2022 Brilliant Village Program

BRI Bank in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University conducted training for BRI fostered villages in 2022. This village empowerment activity is called the Brilliant Village Program which has been carried out by BRI Bank starting in 2020. In 2022, BRI Bank targets 1,000 villages throughout Indonesia which will be given training and will be held in April 2022 to November 2022. The “Brilliant Village” program is a village empowerment program that aims to produce role models in village development through the implementation of superior village leadership practices and a spirit of collaboration to optimize the potential of SDG’s-based villages. The villages that are members of the “Brilliant Village” program are expected to be a source of inspiration for village progress that can be replicated to other villages. Director of Micro Business PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) TBK, Supari, explained that the Brilliant Village Program is one of BRI’s participations in developing Indonesia. BRI’s role is not limited to the Financial Intermediary function but also has a function in empowering MSMEs and also the village economy. While Professor Dr. Suharnomo S.E., M.Sc. as the Dean of FEB Undip in his speech said that the Brilliant Village Program run by BRI is a very good program in developing villages. The village is one element of the mini-government whose hope is that the village will become the foundation in developing Indonesia. Building a village is not only physical but also human resources. So that all elements can be adaptive to technological developments and times as the main capital to build the village. BRI also present in Strengthening the Village Economy along with the creation of the Pasar.id platform and also the Online Empowerment Platform through the LinkUKM Platform. The Brilliant Village Program focuses on developing 4 important aspects in the village, namely BUMDes as the motor of the village economy, Digitalization, Sustainability & Innovation with the object of empowerment. includes: Village apparatus, BUMDes management, Village Consultative Body, Village Business Actors and Activists for Leading Products in Rural Areas (Prukades). The Brilliant Village Program has three stages; The first stage is the Empowerment stage. The second stage is Assistance, and the third stage is Graduation. In this Empowerment stage, villages are given soft competencies and hard competencies training to build a village development mindset. There are 5 very relevant empowerment materials that need to be mastered by village officials, BUMDes management, and MSME actors in the village, namely: Leadership Mastery of Managerial Competence Entrepreneurship Communication Techniques Mastery of Social Responsibility Aspects Once the Empowerment stage is complete, the participating villages will then be assessed by this Brilliant Village Facilitator through the Graduation stage. In this stage, the 10 best villages will be selected, of which the ten best villages will benefit from being incubated by the Undip KKIB Business Incubator in the village development program. In addition, the village will be assisted and assisted in developing the dDesa website. Another advantage of the village will get village development assistance worth 10 million to develop Village-Owned Enterprises in the form of equipment needed by BUMdes to develop its business potential. After the Graduation stage, the Brilliant Village mentoring program was closed with the Brilliant Village assistance stage. This stage is an intensive mentoring activity for Brilliant Village participants where the 10 best Brilliant Villages will be selected in each batch. The implementation of this assistance is carried out online and onsite with a minimum implementation of 12 times within 3 months. In this assistance, a minimum of 1 assistant will be provided for each village. The best Brilliant Villages from each batch in the 2022 Brilliant Village Program will be re-selected and given appreciation at the 2022 Brilliant Village Show which is the culmination of the BRI Bank Brilliant Village Program where the 2022 Brilliant Village Champion will receive a BRI Brilliant Village trophy which was previously won by Sukalaksana Village, Samarang District, Garut Regency, West Java Province.
