FEB Undip Strengthens Global Academic Collaboration through WCU Program with Groningen University

As part of its commitment to advancing international academic engagement, the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip), through the World Class University (WCU) Program, has initiated a strategic collaboration with Groningen University, The Netherlands. Representing FEB Undip in this initiative was Prof. Drs. Waridin, M.S., Ph.D., a senior lecturer from the Department of Economics. During his visit, Prof. Waridin held a series of academic discussions with Prof. Klaus of Groningen University, focusing on establishing a long-term partnership between the two institutions. The visit culminated in the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI), marking a mutual commitment to prepare a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the near future. The proposed areas of collaboration include: Exchange of academic staff and students Joint research initiatives Coordination of educational projects Organization of student development programs such as academic conferences, lectures, short training courses, seminars, and symposia This initiative reflects FEB Undip’s proactive role in building a globally connected academic environment that enhances research, education, and student development through meaningful international cooperation.
SMPN 2 Semarang Alumni Promote Aquatic Sustainability at FEB Undip Reservoir

On July 5, 2025, the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip) welcomed alumni from SMP Negeri 2 Semarang for a fish fry release activity at the faculty’s reservoir. This initiative was part of a shared commitment to environmental care and supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in aquatic ecosystem preservation. The event was attended by FEB Undip Dean, Prof. Faisal, who expressed appreciation for the alumni’s contribution. The fish release not only promotes biodiversity but also strengthens the connection between the academic community and public environmental efforts. FEB Undip Students Empower Local MSMEs Through Digital Financial Transformation

Ardian Arafiq, a Management student at FEB Undip, participated in the 2025 Thematic Community Service Program (KKNT) by assisting Sigur.id, a local MSME in Branjang Village, Semarang. The business, known for its eco-resin crafts, was founded by local youth affected by the pandemic. During the program, Ardian introduced Credibook, a digital financial recording tool, and created a practical guide to help the business manage its finances more efficiently. He also supported improvements in digital marketing, including website updates and e-commerce integration. This initiative reflects FEB Undip’s commitment to community engagement and student involvement in real-world problem-solving, particularly in supporting MSMEs through digital transformation.
Expanding Global Academic Networks: FEB Undip Lecturer Presents Family Business Research at IFERA 2025 in Croatia

Semarang, June 24, 2025 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip), reaffirmed its presence in the international academic network through the participation of its lecturer, Lala Irviana, S.Sos., S.E., M.M., a lecturer at the Department of Management, FEB Undip, in the IFERA (The International Family Enterprise Research Academy) 2025 international conference which was held in Zadar, Croatia, on June 10-13, 2025. On this occasion, Lala Irviana presented a scientific paper entitled “Women’s Identity and Legitimacy in Family Business: A Micro-Foundational Perspective on Cultural, Religious and Societal Values” which was selected as part of the Work in Progress discussion sessions. IFERA is a global non-profit research organization established in 2001 and specifically accommodates researchers in the field of family business. This year, IFERA received a total of 505 paper submissions representing 38 countries, with the top five countries coming from Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium and Austria. The conference consists of seven types of sessions, including plenary session, Full Paper discussion session, Work in Progress discussion session, Practice Session, Special Session, Doctoral Consortium and Social event. Lala’s participation in IFERA 2025 is the fifth consecutive contribution after previously attending the IFERA Summer School 2021, as well as IFERA conferences in Spain (2022), Poland (2023), and Portugal (2024). This participation is fully supported by Universitas Diponegoro through the World Class University (WCU) program in the International Academics Networking (IAN) scheme. The involvement of FEB Undip lecturers in a scientific forum like IFERA is a strategic step in strengthening the position of FEB as part of a global academic network, especially in the field of family business. In addition to broadening academic horizons, this participation strengthens the reputation of FEB Undip as a higher education institution that actively engaged in building international research collaborations. Through active participation in international forums such as IFERA, FEB Undip hopes to continue to encourage the emergence of new researchers in the field of family business in Indonesia, as well as strengthen the direction of research development oriented towards achieving world-class standards. FEB Undip Hosts KKP 6.0: Advancing Economic Transformation to Support Indonesia’s Asta Cita Vision

Semarang, Indonesia — April 24, 2025 The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip), in collaboration with Bank Indonesia and the Indonesian Economic Scholars Association (ISEI), hosted the 6th Public Policy Review Seminar (KKP 6.0) under the theme “Accelerating Economic Growth Models to Support Asta Cita.” Held at the Pertamina Hall of FEB Undip, the seminar served as a strategic forum to discuss inclusive and sustainable economic development aligned with Indonesia’s national vision, Asta Cita. The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, Rector of Universitas Diponegoro and Chair of ISEI Semarang Chapter, who emphasized the critical role of universities in driving innovation and contributing to national development. Keynote speaker Aida S. Budiman, Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia and Head of Division III at ISEI, highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia, policymakers, and industry to strengthen the foundation of Indonesia’s economy. “This seminar is part of ISEI’s responsibility to offer solutions to current economic challenges,” she stated. The panel featured experts from various sectors, including Firman Mochtar (Bank Indonesia), Prof. Telisa Aulia Falianty (FEB UI), and Prof. Firmansyah (FEB Undip), who discussed macroeconomic strategies, fiscal acceleration, and regional sectoral policies. Tuition Fee Refund for Final-Year Students – Even Semester 2024/2025

April 22, 2025 — The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip) informs final-year students of the opportunity to apply for a Single Tuition Fee (UKT) refund of up to 50% for the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. This policy, outlined in Letter No. 387/UN7.A/KU/IV/2025, applies to students who meet the following criteria: Diploma (D3) students in semester 8 or above Undergraduate and Applied Bachelor students in semester 10 or above Have completed UKT payment for the Even Semester 2024/2025 Did not receive any UKT reduction for the same semester Are enrolled in 6 credits (SKS) or fewer 📌 Application Procedure: Applications must be submitted online via the Undip SSO portal, with the following documents: IRS (Study Plan) for Even Semester of 2024/2025 Proof of UKT payment Copy of student’s bank account book Statement from academic advisor regarding thesis progress or a Graduation Certificate (SKL) for those who have completed their studies 🗓️ Deadline for submission: May 5, 2025 Following submission, the faculty will conduct verification before forwarding the application to the university level. FEB Undip and Tembalang Elementary School Unite for Sustainability: Achieving SDGs Through Fish Seed Release

Semarang, January 19, 2024 – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Diponegoro University (Undip) strengthens its commitment to environmental sustainability and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through collaboration with SD Negeri Tembalang. During this visit, the students of SD Negeri Tembalang participated in the activity of releasing fish in the campus pond and lake, creating a positive impact on the campus UI GreenMetric point. Through this event, we are not only providing quality education but also spreading environmental awareness to the community at the elementary level. The students also received socialization about the importance of preserving the environment. Especially the lake at FEB Undip becomes an example for the community as a water conservator and ecosystem in the campus environment. Teachers and staff from both schools play an important role as agents of change, guiding the students to have a better understanding of the sustainability movement. This event shows us Undip’s commitment as an institution that contributes to the green environment by implementing the UI GreenMetric points. FEB Undip continues its commitment to being more than just a higher education center but also an institution that plays a role in shaping the next generation that is environmentally conscious and responsible. Posbindu PTM FEB UNDIP: Maintain Health with a Healthy Lifestyle!

Semarang, October 10, 2023 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB Undip) recently held Posbindu PTM (Posko Pembinaan Terpadu Penyakit Tidak Menular) means an integrated guidance post for the early detection and prevention of Non–communicable diseases (NCDs). This event was first organized nationally by The Indonesian Ministry of Health, further Posbindu PTM can be implemented in multi-sectors, including government, community, schools, universities, work-places, and industry. This activity was held on Friday, October 6, at the lobby of the FEB Undip Entrepreneurship Building. The standard programs carried out by this event were; checking blood pressure, blood sugar, uric acid, height, weight, and abdominal circumference. This activity also involved the active role of students from the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Undip, and collaborated with UPT K3L Undip. Where they provide additional information about the importance of maintaining health and implementing a healthy lifestyle (health counseling). This Posbindu PTM event, indicates a strong commitment of FEB Undip of collaboration in creating a healthy campus environment and supporting efforts to prevent NCDs. Hopefully similar event can continue to be carried out to support the health and welfare of the academic community in the future.
Towards Extreme Poverty Eradication in 2024: Collaboration between Undip and Ministry of Human Development and Culture

Semarang, 26/09/2023. Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) and The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs have agreed to increase cooperation in the field of education, research, and providing benefits to the community. This agreement was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Undip, represented by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., and the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, represented by the Deputy for Coordination of Social Welfare Improvement Prof. Dr. Ir. Nunung Nuryartono, M.Si., which was held at the FEB Undip Hall KWU Building. In the MoU signing ceremony, Sesmenko PMK Andie Megantara, Head of TNP2K Policy Elan Satriawan, and Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs FEB Undip Prof. Firmansyah were also present as witnesses. Representing the Rector of Undip, Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Faisal, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D. officially opened the event. In his remarks, Prof. Faisal said that Undip has so far carried out various activities to deal with poverty. “Undip has so far contributed to poverty alleviation. We empower PAUD teachers who will produce good human resources. Then we had prepared 1400 packs of free nutritious food for students given on Monday to Thursday. As well as providing scholarships to underprivileged fishermen’s children around the coast to study at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK),” explained Prof. Faisal. Furthermore, Prof Faisal hopes that the collaboration between Undip and Kemenko PMK can optimize the efforts of Undip and the Government in handling extreme poverty in Indonesia. “We thank the Kemenko PMK. Undip has contributed to the 2024 extreme poverty reduction program. The existing resources at Undip can be optimized and we can collaborate,” he added. Representing the Minister of Kemenko PMK, Secretary of Kemenko PMK Andie Megantara, S.H., M.M., Ph.D. expressed his appreciation for Undip’s efforts in handling poverty. “Universitas Diponegoro has innovations to reduce extreme poverty, and can become a center in handling extreme poverty,” said Andie. Furthermore, Andie explained that the percentage of extreme poverty has decreased and improved every year. However, to further strengthen the handling of extreme poverty, it is necessary to actively involve the campus academic community. “Efforts to reduce the percentage of poverty have been made, but so far there has been a missed puzzle which is the involvement of the active role of the campus. Campuses have many resources. We continue to collaborate with many campuses to help eliminate extreme poverty,” he said. Furthermore, Andie emphasized that poverty is not just an economic problem. It is multidimensional, involving sociological aspects, cultural aspects, and mindset aspects of society. Therefore, he asked the campus to have a greater contribution, especially with existing academic resources that can help find solutions to poverty management. “If all campuses in Indonesia contribute, poverty alleviation can be very effective. Campuses have many resources. There are programs on each campus that can help address poverty in the area around the campus. Building a mindset of shame for being considered poor, the academic community can also conduct research on poverty issues, and through KKN programs and independent campus programs, “he added. PT.GoTo (Gojek Tokopedia) Visits FEB UNDIP to Discuss Potential Collaborations in Education

The Faculty of Economics and Business of Diponegoro University (FEB Undip) welcomes the delegation from PT. GoTo, a company resulting from the merger of Gojek and Tokopedia, with the aim of exploring potential collaborations. The event was attended by Prof. Suharnomo, the Dean of FEB Undip, and team, as well as Nur Andriansyah, the Branch Manager of Gojek in Semarang region, along with the teams from Tokopedia. The meeting took place in the dean’s office building, 1st floor, senate meeting room of FEB Undip on Tuesday (12/09). Dean of FEB Undip, Prof. Suharnomo, welcomed this visit and expressed his enthusiasm for discussing collaboration opportunities with GoTo. He also stated that FEB Undip is always open to establishing partnerships with companies or institutions, both domestically and internationally. During the meeting, Nur Andriansyah explained Some areas considered potential for collaboration such as internship programs, learning partnerships, supporting facilities, guest lecturers, and scholarships. These collaborations are expected to provide new opportunities for the academic community to develop their knowledge and skills in technology and business relevant and to keep it up to date with nowaday’s conditions. Prof. Suharnomo added that FEB Undip is very open to update their student courses, especially in the fields of renewable energy, business, and food and science technology. The establishment of the new Digital Business study program at FEB Undip is a tangible step in realizing this vision. Therefore, GoTo’s presence here opens up opportunities for further exploration in areas such as Big Data, Data Analysis, and many more.
