Professor Hadrian Djajadikerta is the Accounting Discipline Lead in the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance at Curtin University.

Hadrian is an award-winning academic and HDR supervisor with sustainability and corporate governance as his key research areas.

He has an accounting, management and industrial engineering background and expertise. He has had a widespread academic career, previously having held positions at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Lincoln University, and Edith Cowan University (ECU).

He had held various academic leadership roles, including Research Dean (Business and Law), Head of Commerce (consisted of Accounting, Finance, Economics, MIS and Project Management disciplines), Director of MBA and Postgraduate Programs, A/g International Dean (Business and Law), Accounting Accreditation Chair, and Leader of the Sustainability and Corporate Governance Research Cluster.

Hadrian is active in publications and has received multiple research grants. He has been an investigator in many research grants, including Australian Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs), the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and industry and professional grants. He has supervised more than twenty PhD students and examined numerous PhD theses.

He has received multiple accolades, including the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence in Research Supervision Award and the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Best Paper Award at the Accounting & Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ) Conference, and a Wiley’s Top Cited Paper. He has been a regular Judge at the Wharton-QS Reimagine Education Awards.

Hadrian has also been long active in not-for-profit social, educational and cultural engagement. He also held management, business consulting and corporate coaching positions in the US and Indonesia in both the private and public sectors, including listed and state-owned enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, and government ministries. He has been invited to provide evidence details to the Parliamentary Inquiry into short-stay accommodation by the WA Economics and Industry Standing Committee (2017 – 2021).

Hadrian holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of Technology Sydney, and he is a Chartered Accountant (CA), a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and a Stanford Certified Project Manager (SCPM). He also completed Business Analytics Programme at the University of Cambridge.
